We all know how beetroot help to increase blood levels in our body.
As I know many people use beetroot in salad or sambar.
So here I’m going to share my grandmother’s recipe of beetroot chutney.
One of the easy and tasty chutney that I know.
And this chutney is for hot rice not for any dosa or chapathi’s.
And here it is …
- Beetroot one big size
- Grated coconut one cup
- Curry leaves
- Tamarind 1 inch
- Green chillies 4 to 5
- Mustard seeds 1tsp
- Curry leaves 5 to 6
- One red chilli
Peel the skin of beetroot and cut into small or medium size.
Now boil the beetroot or even u can pressure cook them. (Don’t throw the water).
In a blender add boiled beetroot, coconut, salt, green chillies, tamarind and 4 to 5 curry leaves and that saved water blend nicely. Transfer that into bowl.
Now for tampering in a tampering spoon add 1 or 2tsp of oil, when oil heats up add mustered seeds, once mustered seeds started making sound add hing, curry leaves and one red chilli switch of the gas and pour this tampering into chutney, mix well.
And serve this with, hot rice and tsp of ghee.
