I always prefer coconut and peanut chutney for my dosa and idli but I preapre this tomato and onion chutney for paddu/guliyappa.
Even you can enjoy this Chutney with dosa and idli it taste yum .
There are several ways to prepare this spicy and tangy Chutney, one such variation is to preapre with just less ingredients that I’m sharing here.
- Tomato chopped 2 to 3
- Onion chopped 1 to 2
- Garlic pods 1 or 2
- Red chilli 4 to 5
- Urad dal 1tsp
- Water one cup
- Oil 2tsp
Mustered seeds half tsp
Curry leaves few
In a pan add oil once heated, add urad dal fry until it’s turns golden in colour, then in the same pan add chopped tomato, onion, garlic, red chillies and salt give one mix and cover the pan , cook untill onion and tomato turns soft.
You can add little bit water also. If you feel it’s dry.
Once cooked switch off the flame , when cool down make them a nice paste using mixer grinder. And transfer into bowl.
For seasoning in small pan add add oil once heated add mustered seeds and curry leaves, fry for 30sec and pour into Chutney.
